2016 Chateau Beaumont Haut-Medoc

Now, at almost 10 years from vintage, this wine is showing secondary and tertiary aromatic notes in addition to the ripe plummy, black currant fruit, which defines the wine’s core. The palate is fuller bodied, and the complex array of flavors fan across the palate. Its finish is sturdy and well-composed, all in perfect harmony. It’s a great wine for a festive celebration on a budget. 

Though it can trace its history back to the late 18th century, the current, modern era of Chateau Beaumont began in 1986 upon the purchase of the property by the current owners. They also own Chateau Beychevelle in Saint-Julien, and Beaumont has been made by the team at Beychevelle for many years. The 2016 vintage was a great one, as all of Bordeaux’s appellations produced high-quality wines. 

Lamb chops or a roasted leg of lamb will suffice here! A steak au Poivre or doused with a creamy Bearnaise sauce will delight your guests.
