Claudie Jobard has been the winemaker at Domaine Gabriel Billard since 2011 and a consultant oenologist at Domaine Remiossenet Père et fils since 2006. Since 2002, Claudie has been making wine under her own label from family owned vines in Rully and also from fruit she sources from local growers. The Premier Cru Les Cloux vineyard sits on a hillside, composed of clay and limestone soils, with southeast exposure, just above the village. Many of the vines are over 60 years old. For Burgundy’s white wines, 2015 was a riper vintage than 2014. The wines are approachable in their youth, though, as Meursault’s Anne Morey commented, “with good freshness and aging potential.” Pierre-Yves-Colin compared it to 1985, in his words, “the best white vintage I ever tasted.” Jobard’s 2015 Les Cloux is pale straw meets green-gold in color and the aromas are elegant and fresh. The palate is bright and balanced; the finish crisp and snappy. Drink 2019 - 2025.
