2017 Mas des Bressades Cabernet Syrah Les Vignes de Mon Pere
The Cabernet Sauvignon vines used for this cuveé are upwards of 70 years old and the Syrah is a measly 40 years old! All this old vine goodness is first fermented in tank, then rests in concrete before being aged in barrel for 12 months. The result is a texturally rich, luxurious red wine. The blackberry and plum fruit is dense with notes of licorice and spice. The finish is elongated and fresh. For such a powerful wine, the overall impression is one of polish and finesse.
