The 2018 Chinon Vieilles Vignes comes from the oldest vines at the domaine, averaging 60 years of age! It is a blend of small parcels from gravel and sandy soils along the Vienne River in the small village of Cravat-Les-Côteaux. The grapes are completely de-stemmed and fermented in concrete tanks for 18 months.
Brooding black plums on the nose give way to bright, red cherry fruit on the palate. Texturally satisfying with fine tannins and a mineral thrust. It's in a good place for this youthful wine to start to really enjoy.
