In 1980, Kiona was the first to bottle Lemberger in the US. Some perhaps are more familiar with Lemberger’s other name, Blaufrankisch. Regardless of what you call it, this is a delicious, soft-tannin, blue-fruited red wine. It puts to shame so many trendy, overpriced wines trying to capitalize on the obscure. Pair with sausages, spicy or otherwise.
