Les Barreaux sits at the top of Vosne Romanée, bordering Vosne Brulées, the Grand Cru Richebourg (!), and the legendary Vosne Cros Parantoux (!!!). Perhaps because so few growers bottle a Les Barreaux, it isn't widely known, making it truly an insider's wine. Porcheret's parcel is a mere .32 hectares of 50+ year old vines. The wine is 100% de-stemmed, and is aged for a year in barrel, with roughly 30% new oak. This is a sensational red Burgundy, with lots of energy, class and refinement. We're not saying it's at the level of Jayer's Cros Parantoux, which would set you back roughly $15,000 for a bottle, but perhaps you're at least curious? You really don't want to miss this.
