Pierre Girardin, son of Vincent, looks to be a budding superstar in Burgundy, and he is someone worth paying attention to. The vines for his Bourgogne Blanc are mostly from Meursault (80%) from three Lieux-dits: Les Magny, Murger des Limozins, and Les Herbeux. The vines are 35 years old, and this is pretty snazzy stuff for a Bourgogne Blanc. If someone handed us a glass and told us it was Meursault, we'd have no reason to think otherwise! Aged mostly in double-sized barrels on the lees, bottled unfined and unfiltered.
