Shipping Information
All wines sold by The Wine House are sold in the state of California and title passes to the buyer in California. We make no representation as to the legal rights of any customer to import wine into any state outside California. The buyer is solely responsible for the shipment of all wines.
By requesting us to ship your wine, you are authorizing The Wine House to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your wine to you, and you are warranting that you are acting in a fashion compliant with your state's laws regarding the purchase, shipment, and delivery of wine. Alcoholic beverages may be sold and shipped only to persons who are at least 21 years old. By placing your order you represent to us that you are at least 21 years old and that the person receiving the delivery is at least 21 years old. The person receiving delivery may be required to show identification proving that he or she is at least 21 years old. If an order is returned to us because of failure to provide such proof, you are responsible for any return shipping charges. For this reason, among others, we suggest providing a business address to ship to, if convenient for you.
Any insurance purchased by the buyer covers only loss or breakage by the delivery company. It does not cover damage caused by weather or confiscation of the shipment by any authority. We assume no liability for weather damage or for loss due to the seizure of any shipment.
We use FedEx as our common carrier and offer multiple shipping options:
- Ground Service - approximately 1-6 business days in transit, depending on area
- 2nd Day Air - 2 business days in transit
- Next Day Air - 1 business day in transit
You will receive an order confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your order, and a second email confirming that your order has been shipped. We will contact you by the end of the next business day if there is any issue with supplying or shipping your order.
We reserve the right to place a shipping hold on any order we determine to be at risk for damage by weather conditions. If your order happens to be placed on a shipping hold, we will make every effort to contact and inform you. We do our very best to act in our customer’s interest in this regard, and make every effort possible to see that your order is delivered in good condition. However, it is ultimately your responsibility once you authorize us to ship your order, and the customer assumes all liability for any damage from heat or cold.
Some states have limits on the quantity of alcoholic beverages that may be brought in from another state; other states require a purchaser to obtain a license or permit. The Wine House does not assume any obligation or responsibility for obtaining such license or permit. That is the sole responsibility of the customer.

Currently, we cannot ship to the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Wisconsin.
