What a find! Down in France’s Languedoc, La Forge crafts a fine, price-friendly Chardonnay. It’s partly fermented and aged in oak barrel, though those oaky notes do not stick out at all. On the palate it has a richness upon entry, where it is lifted by the crisp acidity, keeping the flavors in line. There’s a hint of a vitamin-like mineral on the palate as well. Pair it with soft shell crab or lobster.
