From estate grown grapes in the Wahluke Slope AVA, this Malbec is brimming with black berry fruit and white pepper spice. The Wahluke Slope is a distinguished wine growing region in eastern Washington, known for its dry climate and sedimentary soils.
Butch Milbrandt was born into farming. After decades of farming apples and corn, Butch and his brother Jerry began to plant wine grapes in 1997. Prior to producing their first wines in 2005, they sold their grapes to several high-profile wineries. Today they sustainably farm 13 vineyards, encompassing nearly 3,000 acres. The brothers like to say that they bring “elevated wines back down to earth.”
A medium-bodied red, with good structure and smooth tannins, this is a rich wine that can match up nicely with all manner of grilled meats. A Santa-Maria style tri-tip, double-cut pork chops or a plate of Moroccan-spiced lamb kebabs would all match up nicely!
