2022 Domaine Saint-Remy Pinot Noir Reserve

Keep your eyes open for Alsatian Pinot Noir. This once somewhat austere category is now producing complex, quality wines that deserve a place on our tables. Its nose is alive with layers of strawberry and blackberry fruit, with an earthy, savory backbone. It’s medium bodied on the palate with the expressive fruit driving through to the crisp, distinguished finish. Dee-licious!

Our longtime friends Corinne and Philippe Ehrhart have passed the torch to their children, Margot and Florian. The young siblings continue the family tradition, which dates back to 1725. They continue to farm, using biodynamic methods. They also bring new ideas, like updating their labels and experimenting by releasing something new each year. They’ve also embraced tourism offering cellar tours and tastings.

This wine is super-versatile. The ripe berry flavors will harmonize well with pizza, focaccia, or pasta dishes. Its medium body stands up to hearty dishes such as cassoulet, or if you want a red with your rotisserie chicken, this will serve you well.
