Domaine Verret has been in the same family for over 250 years! Bruno Verret oversees around 8 hectares of vines in the region, and makes a few different wines from Pinot Noir. His Irancy village wine is an honest expression of Old World Pinot Noir.
Aromatically, it's fresh and berry laden. There are notes of earth and herbs in there as well, though the fruit is somewhat dominant. The palate entry is light to medium bodied, lively and buoyant. The tannins are integrated nicely on what is a well-rounded, harmonious finish. It's classic, Old World red Burgundy. It's the kind of wine one would expect to be served at countryside bistros filled with locals and vignerons.
