2023 Domaine Joblot Givry 1er Cru Clos du Cellier aux Moines

We’re thrilled to have a new wine from our old friend Jean-Marc Joblot.
The domaine was founded by Charles Joblot after World War II. He was the driving force for the Givry appellation, which was recognized in 1946. Jean-Marc’s daughter, Juliette joined the team in 2012 and continues to stay true to the family’s style.

Jean-Marc said that in 2023, after recognizing that yields would be abundant, “we dropped quite a bit of fruit, which helped with alleviating disease pressure through better air circulation as well as more complete ripening.” They brought in an excellent crop which required very little sorting.

This 1er Cru is youthful and already shows great depth. Oak barrel is noticeable in the aromas, as well as a core of lively berry fruit. The palate is medium weighted and has an almost velvety texture. The fruit is ever present through the finish. One for the cellar, drink this from 2028-2038.
