2023 Jean-Maurice Raffault Chinon Les Galuches

Les Galuches is a lieu-dit, or named vineyard, along an ancient riverbed made up of gravel and sand soils. The organically farmed Cabernet Franc ripens early and goes through a long fermentation before aging in very large, neutral oak barrels for 8 months. Deep cherry flavors mingle with a hint of herb and a crack of black pepper spice.

The Raffault family has cultivated vines in Chinon for 15 generations! Rodolphe Raffault is the current winemaker and is responsible for spearheading the conversion of their 120 acres of vines to organic farming. The estate is rooted in tradition while embracing sustainable winemaking practices for the future.

Medium-bodied Chinon is the ideal bistro red, delightful with pan-roasted poultry, fish prepared with tomatoes, and anything with goat cheese, from quiche to pizza.
