NV Champagne Mouzon Leroux Les Fervins Extra Brut

Mouzon Leroux is based in the Grand Cru village of Verzy in the Montagne de Reims. The family works organically and biodynamically, using native yeasts, and never filtering or fining their wines. This amazing cuvee was produced from equal parts of all seven varietals used in Champagne: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Meunier, Arbanne, Petit Meslier, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Gris. The vines are all planted in side by side rows. It's a fascinating, complex Champagne, one that you keep getting different beautiful aromas from every time you stick your nose in the glass. Only about 250 cases were produced of this cuvee, which comes from the 2018 vintage. It is an Extra Brut, with a dosage of just one gram/liter, and was disgorged in March 2023.

"The 2018 Extra Brut Les Fervins 7 Cepages is a blend of the seven permitted varieties in Champagne, more or less in equal proportion. Lemon confit, white pepper, slate, mint, sage and dried flowers open first, before brisk acids put it all together on the mid-palate and finish. This is another gorgeous and distinctive wine in the range. Dosage is 1 gram per liter. Dosgorged: March 2023." - Antonio Galloni
