Style:
Chateau Laffitte Carcasset’s 35 hectares sit on a rise overlooking the Gironde and its soils are comprised of gravel upon clay and limestone. The vineyards are mainly planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with a smattering of Cabernet Franc. Plum and cassis flavors with notes of anise and cedar, melded together seamlessly.
Story:
The Chateau sits in the Carcasset hameau in the center of Saint-Estephe. The history of the Chateau dates back to the mid-1700's, with then owner, Jean Laffitte giving his name to the property in 1781. Laffitte is also known as the prosecutor of King Louis XVI. The property changed hands in 2016, and is now owned by Pierre Rousseau and family.
Pairings:
A Cab-based Bordeaux begs for quality cuts of meat like a well-marbled steak or gamey lamb chops. Or take it down a notch and pair with hanger steak and frites.

"It shows class on the nose, with ripe black fruit aromas and well-judged oak providing a spicy touch. Ample weight on the palate, poised and savoury."
