Lectores Vini’s Priorat Classic is predominantly Grenache grown on the high elevation, slate (llicorella) soil vineyards southwest of Barcelona. The grapes are de-stemmed, fermented using ambient yeast, and aged in a combination of stainless steel and neutral French oak barrels for approximately 15 months.
Lectores Vini is the brainchild of Fredi Torres, a globe-trotting house music DJ, who along with partner Olliver Jacq, search out organically nurtured vineyards in their native Catalonia. Their unconventional path to making wine reflects a true passion for the land and the native grapes of this region.
If one could call a Priorat elegant, this one would be it. Enjoy with lamb dishes, from meatballs to a slow-cooked shank over navy beans.
