The Montravel region of France is located about 30 miles east of Bordeaux. The Chateau Puy-Servain is owned by Daniel Hecquet, who is one of the regions best and most innovative winemakers. He is a terrific oenologist, honing his skills while working at Chateaux Y’quem and Figeac before returning home to Puy-Servain. Daniel’s vineyards are more densely planted than most in this region, (fewer bunches per vine because there are more vines per hectare), and produce very ripe fruit.
Daniel’s Merlot IGP Perigord is produced from hillside vines on the right bank of the Dordogne river, near the famous Lascaux caves and their Paleolithic-era cave paintings. “Puy 170” refers to the highest point on the hill, which is at 170 meters. It is vinified 100% in stainless steel tanks to retain its freshness. Pure, fruit-driven, user-friendly, and delicious!
