2022 Chateau Puy-Servain Montravel Rouge Terrement

The 2022 Terrement Rouge is made in the style of Right-Bank Bordeaux, featuring Merlot and Cabernet Franc. This wine is finished in barrique, which adds texture as well as aromatic notes of baking spices and vanilla. Rich, juicy and structured, this wine is full-bodied, showing black cherry fruit, with notes of plums, earth, spice and hint of smoke. If enjoying soon, we recommend a brief decant.

We go way back with Daniel Hecquet, having carried his wines for over 30 years! Together with his wife, Catherine, they have holdings in Montravel, Bergerac and Pecharmant, not far from Bordeaux. Sticking to what the region is famous for, they grow Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Semillon and Muscadelle for their white wines, and Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon for their reds.

Treat this wine as you would a red Bordeaux. It has a big profile, so we’d suggest pairing this with a Wagyu rib-eye steak, or any other cuts of beef. Lamb ragu would also pair very well here.
