About ten miles due east of Saint-Emilion begins the appellation of Montravel in southwest France. The whites are typically blends of Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Muscadelle like this one from Chateau Calabre. Dry, with a generous boquet of tropical fruit and fresh tarragon, this all-tank white is well suited for bitter green salads and seafood dishes.
