Delectable Russian River Pinot Noir

On the label it reads: Douglas and Mary Danielak, Proprietors. Here they are enjoying a picnic somewhere in Beaujolais in a rare photo of them together. Selfies are not their thing, but a passion for travel and wine are. With over two decades of winemaking under his belt, Douglas continues to work for small, boutique wineries in Napa and Sonoma. Nevertheless, he and Mary wanted to create a project they could work on together and hence, Juicy Rebound was born. As for Mary's background in the wine biz, among her accomplishments is an 18-year career as wine buyer for Oakville Grocery Company during the period they expanded their business to five locations. The Danielaks' combined experience covers nearly all aspects of the wine trade. A visit from them to the store is never a short one as there is always a lot of shop talk going on while sampling their new releases.  The 2018 Juicy Rebound Pinot Noir  ($39.98 a bottle) comes from a single Russian River vineyard and one Dijon clone. The well-draining Goldridge soils of the vineyard contribute complexity and texture to the finished wine. Aged in French oak barrels and bottled 14 months after harvest, only three barrels were produced, making for a measly 75 case production. There are few, if any, wines with such a description that sell for under $50. This is an incredible value for this echelon of Pinot Noir!
